Easter 2011

We spent our Easter at my Grandma and Aunts house in Illinois. I have been going there for Easter for as long as I can remember. We have missed a few years here and there but for the most part we always go. The Church service is always as beautiful as the year before. This year not all of my family was able to make it but we did have my brother's family there to enjoy Easter with us.

After church we headed back to grandma's for the girls to enjoy an easter egg/goodies hunt. It was sad to leave and I hope to see them all again soon.

Clarissa hit the jack pot!!!

My brother's daughter did a great job finding egg's and goodies
with little to no help. It didn't take long before she was enjoying the
coloring book from my parents.

Kimberly and her easter gifts. She loves her glitter shoes!

Thank you Jesus for what you have done by dying, rising again, and defeating death for us.

Easter Fun!

Clarissa came home from school yesterday with an adorable bunny project she did at school. Kimberly admired it and asked if she could make one too. I looked over Clarissa's and realized I had just about everything we would need to make it. I also thought it would be fun for the day care to do as well. I rounded up all the items that were needed and had Kimberly cut, color, and glue hers. Clarissa came home from school today and noticed that Kimberly's project had something her's didn't. With a little glue and glitter Clarissa's bunny got her ears pierced like Kimberly's. I loved how ALL of the bunnies turned out.

4 year Check up

Another year has passed with Kimberly growing quickly and so another Doctor visit was due. Quentin took today off to take her to her appointment as well as his own but his appointment got canceled. Kimberly was excited about going to see if she could get a balloon. While there they drew blood for her lead test. Kimberly's stats:

She's in the 58th percentile for hight (39 3/4") and 10th weight (30lbs); With her hight and weight percentages she's almost off the chart for hight/weight ratio. When her doctor asked Quentin where Kimberly got her skinny genes Quentin paused to answer. He couldn't remember where we got her jeans from. THEN Quentin realized what genes her doctor was talking about.

Kimberly didn't come home with a balloon but DID come home with 4 stickers. Not because of her age but because she wanted to give a sticker to mommy, daddy, and Clarissa too. So Quentin and I are wearing our Barbie stickers and Kimberly is wearing her Ariel sticker. Clarissa is at school but when she gets home she will be getting her Aurora sticker!

Pre School and Getting Creative :)

What a great way to enjoy being 4 years old than getting signed up for Pre School. Kimberly will be attending Gingerbread Pre School (just like her mom and sister did). After siting though everyone talking and giving instructions we filled out our paper work and where ready to head home. But Before leaving we where given a baggy of goodies for Kimberly. Crayons, glue, pencils, and scissors. We also got a neat calendar that had ideas of different things you can do with your child to prepare her for Pre School.

Today Kimberly requested a "lazy day" and so she has remained in her PJ's. After watching her movie Tangled she asked "Mommy, can I do art work with my new stuff?" I said sure and got her paper, crayons, scissors, and glue out. She had so much fun making LOTS of pictures. She is still working on writing her name left handed, but I was SO PROUD to see her name on her first picture she did for her dad's new office.

Kimberly busy doing art work

Tada :) The finished product! Kimberly also added a few more drawings to her collection of art work. We got a new printer and I'm still working with the scanner but I hope to get them scanned and add them on a later date :)

Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary, AND Welcome Home!

I made this banner for Kimberly's 4th birthday!

Kimberly kept telling everyone about how she was going to be 4 on April 16th. Little did we know just HOW exciting April 16th was going to be. Kimberly woke up and knew her party was going to be earlier than normal. I was sad to see that unlike years before it was dark and cloudy on her birthday. Usually its bright and sunny but not this year. Kimberly didn't mind the weather and put on her birthday dress, crown, and waited patiently for guests to arrive. She was so good to tell everyone thank you after opening the gift from them.

Kimberly had a BLAST! She loved all her gifts and could hardly wait to get them all out.

I can't get over how adorable she looks in this picture. She has loved the Rapunzel story since she was a baby. We would read it over and over till the binding on the book broke. Tape and being extra careful when turning the pages made it so that she is STILL able to enjoy the story to this day. Of course who knew that they would turn that classic story into a movie, costume, and Barbie all to go along with her favorite fairy tail.

Kimberly wanted to do cake AFTER presents this year and I was more than happy to let that happen. She had so many choices of cupcakes to pic from and after looking at them all she made her choice.

The best part about the cupcake she picked was that it had ALL the colors I used to decorate them. I was inspired by the color used in the Tinkerbell movies. I think that they turned out quite nice.

After singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Kimberly she was excited to blow out the candles. Only 4 where lit but 8 candles where placed in 3 cupcakes. The candle's spelled out her name. She found this a really neat thing to have.

~LATER THAT DAY~

After everyone headed home it was then time to head off to my parents house to get ready for my mom's return home from the hospital. After being there for almost 2 weeks she was more than ready to be home to celebrate 31 years of marriage. Yes that's right Kimberly was born on my parents 27th wedding anniversary.

While getting the house put together, my sister's and I wanted to do something special for my mom and dad. This was a VERY special day and it deserved a few special touches. We headed to Parkers (a floral shop) and told them out parents wedding colors, how many years they have been married, and the number of members in the family. They worked their magic and put this BEAUTIFUL arrangement together. There are 6 roses, one for each family member. Adding some balloons we thought that it really made the house pop.

Since my mom had been in the hospital, her wedding ring was left at home. She said that the FIRST thing she wanted when getting home was her wedding ring. My oldest sister handed my dad the ring. He slipped it on her finger just as he had done 31 year ago. I can't think of a better example of true love than my parents.

Our Newest Memeber

Thats right we are now proud owners of a 2 year old Yorkie named Lady. We met Quentin's Aunt at the mall and got Lady around 1:45pm. She went strait to Kimberly and then came to me. She wasn't to sure about leaving me but did then go to Clare and last but not least Quentin. Lady was quickly attaching to Quentin and that is absolutely adorable to see.

We stopped by Petco and purchased her harness, toys, treats, and brush. She got a treat from the clerk but wasn't to sure about if she wanted to eat it. She was really thirsty so we figured that would be the first thing on our to do list when we got home.

She LOVED shopping

Lady was very active in the van on the ride home. She was very happy when she got into Quentin's lap. Poor Quentin didn't expect her to pop up into his lap like that but he loved it. Its evident we have yet another daddy's girl!

was so comfortable she jumped up on the seat with out
a second of hesitation.
